Today is a special day for British people, in that it is yet another excuse to wear elaborate fascinators while day drinking. This morning, crowds turned out for the annual Ladies' Day at Aintree Racetrack in Liverpool, where the requisite uniform goes something like this: sky-high heels and equally high hair, lacy minidress, topped with an appropriately extravagant headpiece.
While always a fashion-centric occasion, the Daily Mail reports that this year, the race track has implemented a "Chanel-inspired" dress code in order to encourage more elegant ensembles. The resulting effect was plenty of pastels, springy florals, one extraordinary butterfly hat, and more importantly, beer and bubbly. Scroll through the photos above to witness a level of fun you will probably never experience in your entire life.
