Last summer, MAC announced that it would release a makeup collection in honor of the late Selena Quintanilla, the beloved Mexican-American Tejano singer, thanks to a relentless social media campaign and Change.org petition from her loyal fans. Then in April, MAC teased the collection by releasing an image of the first product, a red lipstick that matches the singer's signature beauty look. "It is an exact color match of one of Selena’s... taken from her personal makeup case that she used to take on the road," said Selena’s widower, Chris Perez, on his Facebook page.
Today, MAC’s given us another peek at the collection, this time showcasing a wider range of the products that will be available come October. The image shows two more lipsticks in addition to the original red, one that's a deeper red and one that's a nude.
Suzette Quintanilla, Selena’s sister, previewed the full collection on Periscope after MAC posted the Instagram. In addition to the three lipsticks, there will also be five eyeshadows, each specially named after one of Selena’s songs, a duo blush compact and blush brush, an eyeliner, and a mascara. MAC will also release an online exclusive, called Itty Bitty Balm Balm, which seems like it's aimed at Selena’s youngster fans.
Racked has reached out to MAC for more information on all the products from the line and will update when we hear back.
