Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

WGSN, a trend-forecasting company responsible for telling everyday people what they should buy in the future, has just released its report for the spring/summer 2018 season, which, yes, is two years away. According to the experts, we can look forward to the inundation of four brand-new phrases.

Last night, the global trend authority revealed "WGSN - The Vision: Spring/Summer 2018" -€” an exclusive, bi-annual outlook that defines the key fashion, retail and design trends to shape purchasing patterns for the upcoming cycle and beyond. Please see a release below introducing the four key macro trends to shape the fashion industry in 2018: Psychotropical, Youth Tonic, Kinship, and Slow Futures.

Kinship sounds very nice! Youth Tonic and Slow Futures both sound stressful, but in opposite ways. Psychotropical sounds like an absolute blast, so please sign me up.
