Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

On the one hand, Gigi Hadid's taste in clothing skews heavily athleisure. There are approximately two billion paparazzi photos on the internet featuring the model in some combination of sweatpants and a long sweater. On the other, Hadid really knows how to rock a choker and corset — a counterbalance, perhaps, to all that #SwaddlingStyle.

Case in point: her appearance on the Tonight Show on Monday night, to which she wore a striped Rubin Singer corset, Adam Lippes trousers, Stuart Weitzman heels, and a Fallon choker. (The brand created by Dana Lorenz, that is. Jimmy Fallon has not taken up jewelry design.) The effect is sort of like if Beetlejuice were a cabaret singer who suddenly came into a vast fortune left behind by an enigmatic relative and quit the business to become a talent agent.

It's a good look, is what we're saying. Not a particularly comfortable look — least of all if you're going to tuck into a burger, like Hadid and Fallon did during their interview — but a good look nonetheless.
