Queen Elizabeth "No Last Name Necessary" II has been tasked with doing important queen things today, which means that today she looks more like an actual queen, and not just a very well-manicured woman with a predilection for gloves and an exceptional ability to match her blazers to her top hats.
Today is the annual State Opening of Parliament, at which Queen Elizabeth gets to sit on a throne and wear her ermine robes and the Imperial State Crown, which includes 5 rubies, 11 emeralds, 17 sapphires, 273 pearls and 2,868 diamonds, a.k.a. basically three thousand diamonds. THREE THOUSAND DIAMONDS.
See, no one would deny that this is a queen:

Alas, if only every day Queen Elizabeth could look as queenlike she does today.
