If there was one major fashion trend at the Met Gala on Monday night, it was an inclination toward all things sleek and silver — everyone's way, apparently, of riffing on the "Manus x Machina" theme of this year's Costume Institute exhibit. An unfathomable number of silver gowns hit the red carpet (worn by Taylor Swift, Brie Larson, Jourdan Dunn, and dozens more), and platinum accents made their way into more than one eye makeup look.

Over in hair land, things were not much different. While Amandla Stenberg, Willow Smith, and the Haim sisters dressed up their locks with metallic accessories, Ciara went for the gold and painted her hair a luminous shade of silver. Meanwhile, Zendaya and Elle Fanning went aerodynamic, one in a super-sleek bowl cut and the other in a pin-straight ponytail.

Click on for the best hair looks of the evening, also featuring the most luxurious blowout in the world (Amber Heard), a towering work of art (Lupita Nyong'o), and a debatable but fun foray into baby bangs (Michelle Williams — A for effort).
