Mansur Gavriel, your favorite purveyor of bucket bags and suede sandals, has always relied heavily on a sense of somber moodiness for its campaigns and Instagram (think a still life of flowers or fruit, or a hedgehog peering out of a tote). But now the beloved accessories brand has picked a familiar face for its fall campaign: Hari Nef, the first transgender model ever signed to IMG's U.S. roster.
According to Fashionista, Nef's campaign is Mansur Gavriel's first with a high-profile model. It's also a career highlight for Nef, whose star has been rising as of late. She's walked in shows for the likes of Adam Selman and Hood By Air and has appeared in a campaign for & Other Stories. She's also known as an activist and an actress, with a role in Amazon's Transparent.
Fashionista reports that the new Mansur Gavriel ads are out in June, but for now here's a glimpse on the brand's Instagram of the campaign. Nef has hair strewn all over, which seems to be an aesthetic MG is into right now, and she's carrying Mansur Gavriel's new, Birkin-like Sun bag. It-ness all around.
