Cool-Kid Style Inspiration From New York’s Most-Hyped Art Fair

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Frieze New York is in full swing. Through Sunday, the biggest galleries in the country set up shop on New York's Randall's Island for exhibitions, artist talks, special events, and a curated reading room that doubles as a collector's editions-only bookshop.

Like all New York City art shows, the crowd is just as interesting, diverse, and fun to look at as what's on the walls (or on the floor, as is the case with many of the installations). Check out some of the best style looks our photographer spotted on day one of the fair in the gallery above.

Some highlights: an old-school Kenzo nylon sport bag, Stella McCartney's Elyse flatforms, ample graphic tees and sweatshirts, and a tote bag that reads: "You and Your Selfie Are Merging." There's also a great use case that should convince you to consider patchwork denim flares.

For a full list of what's going on through the weekend, bounce to the Frieze site for the complete rundown.
