Kate Middleton is not a person. “But I look at her every day on the internet to see what clothes she puts on her real-person body!” you argue. To that, I say, “Nuh-uh." Kate Middleton is not a person. Not anymore. The Duchess of Cambridge is a person. I’m fairly certain that’s what her two-year-old, Prince George, calls her. It's also her official title in Great Britain, and if I had a nickel for every time various American media outlets — including this one! — incorrectly state her name, I’d buy a ticket to Hamilton, i.e. the Broadway play that recounts some of the reasons Americans don’t have to follow monarchical rules.
Anyway, now she wears a name tag so you don’t get it twisted.
But she’s not the only one wearing a name tag at the second day of the Royal Ascot — Prince William’s got one on, too! His reads, “Hello, my name is HRH Duke of Cambridge.”
