The words "La Mer" conjure up visions of incredibly indulgent skincare routines, best exemplified in the brand's $170-per-ounce, ultra-moisurizing Crème de la Mer. But now La Mer is linking up with three top makeup artists to be its first-ever brand ambassadors.
The partnership is timed to a new launch this fall, the details of which are scant is being called a "new five-star innovation" by the company. With celebrity makeup artists on board, it seems like that could be a full-fledged La Mer makeup line, right? The brand already carries $95 skin tints, $70 concealer, and $65 powder...
Plus, makeup is clearly the best way to reach young people (have you heard of this girl named Kylie and her lip kits?). And La Mer and its $170 jars are probably not reaching quite as many teens as other brands.
Here are the Instagram stars who will now rep La Mer on social media.
Patrick Ta (484,000 Instagram followers): Ta is the makeup artist to huge names like Gigi Hadid, Jessica Alba, Shay Mitchell, Olivia Munn, and the Kardashians — specifically Kim and Kourtney. He said last year in an interview that he "owes his success to Instagram."
Violette (32,700 followers): This Paris-based artist works with publications like Elle France and Into The Gloss, and she dreamt up some incredible "lipstick as art" campaigns for MAC.
Kayleen McAdams (36,500 followers): She's worked with top-notch clients like Lily Collins, Jessica Biel, and Rosario Dawson — oh yeah, and Rachel McAdams is her sister!
