Man Repeller founder Leandra Medine has designed flared cropped mom jeans for Re/Done, leggings for Outdoor Voices, and trench coats for Veda. Now she's trying her hand at dreaming up wardrobe staples with British label Atea Oceanie.
Of course, since this is Man Repeller, they're basics with quirk — like a lamé blazer with matching pants.
"I believe the majority of women could benefit from having a very nice fitted blazer, but it doesn’t necessarily mean it has to come in black or ivory crepe when navy lamé works well, too," Medine explained in a statement about the collab.
That point of view is exactly why Atea Oceanie designer Laura Myers says she she wanted to work on a Man Repeller collab. "One of the reasons why a collaboration made so much sense was the idea to play around with things I wouldn’t normally do. Looking at clean minimal pieces with a totally whimsical slant, working with lamé or doing a long sleeved red shirtdress," she said.
The Atea Oceanie x Man Repeller's seven-piece capsule collection includes midi skirts, wide leg pants, and a mandarin collar boyfriend shirt, all in shades of navy and red. The capsule will be available at Atea Oceanie's website and Boutique 1 and retails for $270 to $650. And it's all a bit oversized and a bit dramatic — in other words, it captures that Man Repeller vibe.
