Back in November, HBO released the first promotional image from the set of its new Sarah Jessica Parker-fronted dramedy Divorce. Said image — which features Parker in a very fancy coat and a lionesque mane of blonde hair, and standing on the street of what is definitely New York City — suggested that the show would be a slightly moodier, darker, and likely far less pun-replete semi-sequel to Sex and the City.
But now that there’s officially a trailer, that fate has been pretty much sealed. Instead of the Upper East Side, however, the series seems to take place in a rural (albeit no less fancy) setting that seems to be perpetually covered in a frigid blanket of snow (they’re going through a divorce, get it?).
Other important differences from SJP’s other HBO dramedy: More dinner parties filled with highly educated 50-somethings, fewer sidewalk brunches, and roughly the same number of shots in which an unhappy couple lies in bed and stares at the ceiling. Watch the full trailer below.
