Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner Debut Naked Pants, the Business-Casual Alternative to the Naked Dress

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Do you ever have those days when you know you should put on a pair of pants — say, when getting ready for work or heading to your newborn niece's christening — but would literally rather wear a Hefty bag than a restrictive, uncomfortable garment that hides and confines the entire bottom half of your body?

Famous BFFs Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner feel your pain. Last night, the pair descended on West Hollywood hot spot The Nice Guy (perhaps to celebrate Gigi's newly-single status?) — and rather than succumbing to the tyranny of proper pants, they gamed the sartorial system by wearing what appeared to be trousers, but were really just a few scraps of see-through fabric stitched into deceptive leg tubes. Naked pants, if you will!

Kendall directly acknowledged the genius of her Talbot Runhof-designed naked pants (sorry, "party pants") on Instagram, too:

Naked pants: for those times when you want to go see-through, but a dress just won't do!
