Today's the slated launch date for the Yeezy Season 2 footwear collection, which is not to be confused with this coming Saturday's Yeezy Boost 750 launch. This Yeezy Season 2 drop is unaffiliated with Adidas, which is now strictly handling the Yeezy Boost sneaker releases, according to Footwear News.
These shoes are decidedly not sneakers, featuring sandals and boots with 4.5-inch heels. The collection starts at $445 for minimalist suede sandals and tops out at $995 for knit knee-high toe-less boots. In non-heel offerings, there's also a military crepe boot available in men's and women's sizes. All the shoes are made in Italy except the crepe boot, which is made in Spain.
Vogue has it that the collection will be sold online at yeezysupply.com (which appears to be inaccessible to the public right now). Racked compiled a list of stores that are carrying Yeezy Season 2 footwear, according to sources like WWD and Footwear News:
My Theresa (Some sizes are already sold out, particularly the transparent sandal)
Nomad (Crepe Taupe Boots only, releasing at Nomad on Friday June 10th)
End Clothing (Crepe Taupe Boots only)
Paul & Friends (Crepe Taupe Boots only)
They are also being sold on FarFetch, where they already appear to be sold out.
In addition to shoes, Kanye West's $80 Yeezy Season 2 zine is out today too. All of which probably has you wondering: What's going on with Yeezy Season 2 clothing? Yeezy is apparently going season-less for this release. According to Hypebeast, Yeezy president Pete Fox wrote in an email that "[Yeezy Season 2] will not be produced in its entirety or launched following a traditional fashion calendar." Instead, certain pieces from the collection will be released throughout the year, starting with the footwear.
Get 'em while you can.
