We’re Hiring a Director of Visuals

Does giving makeovers give you a sense of control in a world full of chaos?

NYFW backstage

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

We're hiring a director of visuals for Racked — sort of like an art director, but next level.

That this new role exists should tell you something about the new Racked we're building here at Vox Media. An authoritative and savvy brand talking about shopping from a fresh perspective, and giving you that information wherever you are. We're going deep on your favorite topics, from mall brands to models, and making it easier than ever for you to actually shop for things along the way.

So the way we look matters, a lot. From our videos to our newsletters, our Snapchat stories to our Twitter cards, we’re ready for the next (Big! Exciting! Beautiful!) phase of the brand’s visual identity.

You can find the official job description here (and below). And if you answer the following questions with an increasingly enthusiastic yes, you should apply.

Are you a visual thinker?

Are you already thinking about how to tell stories across different platforms?

Are you excited to collaborate with a team of eager editors and reporters?

Are you passionate about experimentation?

Do you look at Racked and see a blank slate primed for greatness?

Awesome, us too.
