To put it simply, going out to a bar or club in the winter sucks. There are a whole lot of factors at play here, from Uber surge-charging during the worst winter weather to the peaking temptation to just stay in bed, cozy and warm with Netflix. But figuring out what to wear — an outfit that can handle the most inclement weather without getting ruined, especially on your feet — probably comes in at number one.
You can’t bail on plans until April, though, so you’ve got to find ways to make it work. As far as shoes go, that means looking for pairs with treaded bottoms, lug soles, and thicker heels, built to handle less-than-desirable conditions.
Sure, they’re not stilettos, but the nine pairs ahead won’t cramp your style and are perfect for trekking around in whatever combination of rain, snow, slush, and/or ice the night has in store.
