You Can Still Shop Some of 2016’s Most Popular, Sold-Out Items

The brands that believe in second (and third, fourth, and fifth) chances.

There is no heartbreak quite like reading the words ‘“sold out” next to the one thing you’ve been dying to buy, and in 2016 — arguably one of the biggest years for hyped-up, buzzed-about items (thanks, Instagram!) — the exclusivity and disappointment was all too common.

From the items that ruled street style, like the Le Specs x Adam Selman sunglass collab, to those ADAY leggings you told yourself would still be there tomorrow, things moved quickly. Usually a little too quickly for most of us to get our hands on them.

But thankfully, unlike the latest Supreme drop, there are tons of crazy-popular items that sold out in 2016 (including the two I mention above) that you don’t have to give up on, or spend heinous amounts of money on in the depths of resale sites like Ebay or Grailed to cop.

Merchants have heard our plea; they’re opening up waitlists and re-stocking these six coveted items. This time, don’t assume they will still be there tomorrow.

Le Specs x Adam Selman Lost Lolita Sunglasses, $119

The all-black modern cat-eye frames cosigned by the likes of Rihanna and Gigi Hadid will be restocked a sixth (!) time January 16th. Don’t want to wait? Shop the frames in white or opaque red now.

ADAY Throw & Roll Leggings, $135

If anyone doubts that we’ve reached peak activewear, let them know these ADAY leggings completely sold out in this past summer, resulting in a waitlist of more than 2,000 people. The pair sold out again after a restock in November, but you can keep your eye out for another in just a few weeks.

Laura Lombardi Curve Earring, $98

This jewelry brand dominated Instagram this year, and these bold, unique hoops were its biggest player. While the pair is currently on back-order, you can pre-order now and expect shipment the week of January 16th.

Wildfang Wild Feminist T-shirt, $40

The year of 2016 is all the explanation you need for the reason this feminist proclamation T-shirt sold out more than four times in twelve months. Currently, all sizes are restocked, from XS to 2XL.

AYR The Form Jeans, $275

These jeans had a 600-person waitlist when they first hit the scene, and after their restock in spring 2016, sold out in less than a week. Good news? Most sizes are available right now.

MM. Lafleur Casey Dress, $240

It shouldn’t surprise anyone that a body-con dress with food-baby concealing abilities was ever in high demand. Since the initial launch, the Casey dress has been restocked three times, with a waitlist of more than 2,000 people at its highest. You can currently buy the dress now, but the brand is already anticipating another sellout with a fourth restock planned for mid-February 2017.
