The Golden Globes Red Carpet Was (Literally) Covered With Stars

Several prominent (not to mention puzzling) trends emerged during last night’s Golden Globes red carpet, chief among them cold-shoulder gowns and black ribbons. But perhaps my favorite micro-trend was the stars that dotted the carpet. Literal stars, I mean, not the kind of stars that are “just like us.”

Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy winner Emma Stone, in perhaps the most committed take on the theme, arrived in a nude Valentino Haute Couture gown completely covered in sparkling silver stars — a nod to her film La La Land’s Best Original Song winner “City of Stars,” no doubt.

Later in the evening, at the Warner Bros. Pictures/InStyle after-party, Hailey Baldwin turned up in a pink Elie Saab that featured the same motif at the waistline and bodice. And Emily Ratajkowski opted for starry jewelry from H.Stern.

While shopping these celebs’ exact looks is out of the question for most mere mortals (Ratajkowski’s earrings alone will set you back $9,900!), the good news is that there are tons of star-print dresses, separates, and jewels on the market with more reasonable price tags. Scroll down to shop a few favorites!
