The easiest boots to find (and subsequently buy) every fall are black ankle boots. The reliable, go-with-everything boot will be there, guaranteed, every year, without fail. But, a counterpoint: Maybe that’s a reason you should give them a rest.
This season in particular, there are so many fun, not-boring, even kind-of-weird (in a good way!) ankle boots lining the shelves of all kinds of stores. Unexpected materials (satin! vinyl!) and colors (pink! silver! literally anything that isn’t black!) are popping up everywhere from Aldo to Barneys.
Since winter’s going to be here before you know it — and once it’s here, you probably won’t want to leave your house for any sort of social gathering until spring — isn’t now the perfect time to treat yourself to a pair of anything other than Chelsea boots?
