Today, Outdoor Voices and Allbirds unveiled their first-ever collaboration. And when you consider the brands’ minimal aesthetics, Instagram clout, and shared philosophy of staying active (whatever that looks like for you) and being comfortable while you do it, it’s pretty much a no-brainer that the two would team up.
“We've been following Tyler [Haney]’s work at Outdoor Voices for some time now and have always felt a natural synergy between Allbirds and OV,” Allbirds founders Tim Brown and Joey Zwillinger shared over email. “Both teams bring a new vision to dated categories and pride ourselves on finding a ‘better way’ to be Doing Things. It seemed like such an obvious and fun next step for both of us to collaborate on our first head-to-toe look.”
The collab, joining Allbirds’ sustainable sneakers and Outdoor Voices’ comfy, recreation-friendly clothes, consists of men’s ($195) and women’s ($220) “kits”: an Outdoor Voices top and bottom, coordinating Allbirds Wool Runners in two new exclusive colors (Black Iris or OV SF Grey), and an exclusive navy Jogwalkers Club tote.
The kits, available in two tonal navy and gray shades, are inspired by “jogwalking” — in other words, laid-back, pressure-free physical activity. (The only kind I like!)
I got a chance to try the whole ‘fit out with a group of editors in the Catskills courtesy of the brands, and I can tell you first-hand that each piece is as good as it looks on Instagram. The Outdoor Voices leggings are ideal — cute and comfortable but keep everything together — and the Allbirds runners are super lightweight and cozy.
