If you took advantage of being able to just throw on a dress and go every day during the summer, you shouldn’t have to slow down now just because the temperature is dropping. Instead of a T-shirt dress, turn to a sweater dress, which is basically its fall equivalent. They’re just as comfortable, cute, and versatile — a sweater dress will work whether you’re wearing one to lounge around the house or get shit done in the office.

For the office, throw on a turtleneck or button-down shirt underneath a V-neck or crew-collared dress for a more polished look. Ditch the layers for nights and weekends (or don’t!), add a leather jacket and some tall boots, and voila — you’re good to go anywhere. You’ll find eight of our favorite styles below that are all long enough to be HR-approved, but cute enough to wear everywhere else, too.
