The last fake retail holiday of 2017 is happening today, December 26th, and what we’re celebrating is a slew of after-Christmas sales. Why? Because retailers know you probably got a ton of gift cards from your extended family and office Secret Santa, and also that perhaps your mom wrapped up $10 bills in jewelry boxes so that you’d have “something to open,” even though you just asked for plain cash.

So! What should you buy with your newfound riches (or, like, $50)? Every store that’s interested in competing for your dollars today is going to be having some sort of sale, so we corralled some of the best here, with specific suggestions on what to buy from each.

This wool car coat: I’ve had my eye on this pink car coat since the fall, but that was when it was $275 and out of my league. Now it’s $193 for the pink color (and $138 for the navy). Not feeling it? There’s a bunch of other stuff on sale from the H&M-owned brand.

This cashmere sweater: Everlane’s Choose What You Pay sale is back, and one of the best deals is this cashmere crewneck for $70. If you’re all set with sweaters, there are also a bunch of shoes and tees (for as low as $11) in the mix.

These housewarming gifts: Nordstrom’s half-yearly sale is on through January 2nd, and while you can certainly sift through the clothes and accessories, now would also be a good time to snag a generic host or housewarming gift, like these soy wax candles in painted concrete holders for $19.90, this very gold pineapple candle ($17.98), or this ceramic pitcher ($20.98).

These lip pencils: If you’re a Sephora Beauty Insider, you can take an extra 20% off sale products through the 1st with the code SALEONSALE. (And if you’re not, just sign up.) This set of four Nars lip pencils from the limited-edition Man Ray set will be just $32 after that discount.

This sequin pencil skirt: What better time to buy a sequin skirt than right before New Year’s Eve? This blue one from the collab between Katie Sturino and Eloquii is marked down to $76.99 (from $110.90) in sizes 12 through 28. Just choose two-day shipping if you need it by the 31st.

These cool socks: Happy Socks is having an end-of-year sale with a 30% discount and free shipping. Use this time to treat yourself to a pair of really fun socks, like these, or these, or these, or these, or these, or these...
