Wearing a puffer coat in the winter used to not be cool or chic — it used to be a signifier that it was finally so cold out that you didn’t care what you looked like. (That is, unless you are smart and never put fashion over function.)

Those days are way behind us, though. Brands all over the spectrum, from Aritzia and Topshop to Everlane and Ganni, are churning out puffers that are just as cute as they are truly warm. We’ve pulled together some of the very best ones out there right now, ranging from lightweight to heavy-duty.
