The concept of fur and feathers on shoes has come a long way from its humble (tacky?) beginnings as costume and boudoir shoes. Thanks to designers like Brother Vellies and Gucci re-imagining new shapes and silhouettes, you’ve probably been seeing the different takes on the style in heavy rotation for the past couple of years — all year-round, not just in cold, fur-friendly weather.

This spring is no different. But the challenge here is to find ones you can actually wear without looking like you’re participating in Carrie Bradshaw cosplay or would go to any length to let everyone on the street know that you’re insanely wealthy. Luckily, there are tons of totally toned-down styles available right now to choose from — from mules and slides to block-heels and clogs — that casually incorporate fur, faux fur, feathers, and shearling into the mix.

Pair the selects below with anything from an easy summer dress to an oversized hoodie and jeans — either way, they’re sure to be the highlight of your outfit.
