If you use Instagram for outfit ideas or casually browse fashion blogs, then the burgeoning Korean fashion scene is definitely on your radar. But aside from a few brands carried at Barneys and indie boutiques like Shop Super Street, plus a handful of Seoul-based sites like Style Nanda that ship worldwide, there aren’t that many opportunities for discovering and shopping Korean brands if you live in the US. Starting this morning, though, you can get to know more than a dozen of K-fashion’s coolest labels at Nordstrom — at least for a limited time.
The five-week K-fashion shopping event is part of Nordstrom’s ongoing “Pop-In” series curated by Olivia Kim, Nordstrom’s vice president of creative projects, and features several women’s and unisex fashion brands you’ve probably never heard of: Hyein Seo, Zero per Zero, SJYP, J Koo, Neul, Yune Ho, and more. Styles range from minimalist and girly to street-inspired and androgynous. In short, it’s pretty much your best opportunity for a crash course in Korean fashion, and Kim is an excellent guide; she’s known for her eye, and was an early supporter of several now-huge brands.
In addition to clothes and accessories, there are also some other types of Korean goods for sale, from plush toys to kitchenware to, of course, K-beauty products (Nordstrom ran a K-beauty Pop-In shop in January, to which this K-fashion shop is a follow-up).
