While it might be hard to believe — with weather in most parts of the country dipping from a sunny 70 degrees one day to a gloomy 30 degrees the next— winter really is almost over.
This means a lot of good things to come. More daylight, bare legs, and the retreat of seasonal affective disorder come top of mind, but one of the bigger wins here is that it’s finally time to trade in your bulky winter parka for much lighter, transitional options: something that won’t have you overheating during the day, but won’t leave you freezing at night.
From the classic trench coat to heavy-trending options like embroidered bombers, workman jackets, and colored denim, these jackets will work just as well next fall as they do now, so you don’t have to feel like you’re shelling out money for just a few months’ worth of wear.
Check out our favorite picks below, and get excited — warmer, happier days are on the way.
