Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Nothing ruins the joys of summer (and the promise of exposed skin) quite like an unclear, borderline-strict office dress code — nothing. After presumably making it through six to eight months of long sleeves and chunky knits, you deserve to shed some layers through the whole season just like everyone else, regardless of where you work.
If you’re one those anti-dress people (or just someone who doesn’t want to wear one every day), having a solid roster of cute-but-still-work-appropriate tops is your best bet for the warmer months. Sure, a sleeveless top may seem like a no-brainer, but finding one that isn’t too skimpy (think Paris Hilton-era spaghetti straps), too over-the-top, or just too boring isn’t as easy as you’d imagine.
Here, we’ve rounded up a handful of our favorite sleeveless picks that, when paired with your trousers or worn-in jeans, make for the perfect summer outfit in (or out) of the office.
