There once was a time when wearing a one-piece swimsuit meant one of three things: You were either prone to serious sunburns, body-conscious, or, like, an actual professional swimmer. Thankfully, those days are over. Retailers and designers finally heard us out, meaning that today, finding a cute one-piece suit is just as easy as finding any bikini you’ve played out over the last few years.
You don’t have to settle for basic solid-colored looks, either. Now more than ever, you’ll find the bikini’s more forgiving counterpart decked out with everything from grommets and fringe to peplums and bows in every cut, color, and pattern imaginable. So whether your look leans more sweet and simple than over-the-top (or vice versa), you won’t have a problem finding the right suit this year.
We’ve got a dozen solo pieces by a huge range of designers below — from favorite mall brands like H&M to indie newcomers like The Ones Who — to get you started.
