Orlando, Florida, might not be known for its retail scene, but I’ve always had one escape from the malls of my hometown: Dechoes Resale, a consignment store that’s great for vintage and gently used designer pieces with two locations in Orlando. I’ve been shopping there since high school, and I still try to visit anytime I’m home.
Both locations are gems, with a warm, colorful vibe that takes over as soon you walk in. The shops are organized by item, and new stuff hits the floor every day (follow Dechoes on Instagram for the prime new pieces; they’ll ship to you if you pay via PayPal). Locked away by the registers are the high-priced designer picks and jewelry that you definitely want to check out before making a purchase. While you can shop select items online or via Insta, I’d recommend stopping by in person if you can, because you never know what you’ll come across — maybe vintage Chanel T-shirts or like-new bags by Salvatore Ferragamo, Louis Vuitton, or Miu Miu. (The Edgewater Drive shop in particular is unpredictable in a good way.)
Over the years I’ve copped plenty of vintage denim from both stores, plus a few other closet staples. My favorite purchase by far is a blue Gucci logo shoulder bag, but you’ll find everything from American Apparel to Supreme (and yes, Gucci) on the racks.
