Solange Wore a Puffer Coat and Figure Skates to the Met Gala, Where It Is 72 Degrees

Tfw the weather doesn’t care about your outfit but it’s whatever because you’re Solange.

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

It is currently 72 degrees in New York City, where the Met Gala is taking place. Which, if you’re Solange, means it’s the perfect occasion to wear an outfit that combines not only an enormous black puffer coat, but also a pair of figure skates.

To be fair, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is vaguely close to Lasker Rink in Central Park. Unfortunately, that rink is closed for the season. But whatever! You’re Solange, and if you want to attend a party in a fashion sleeping bag and non-functioning athletic attire, you can!
