Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
It’s been a busy week for your faves: Glossier dropped another new product, Rhianna made us summer shoes that aren’t those slides, and weed can now be incorporated into your wardrobe without making it look like you still hang out at your hometown mall. In the case that it’s been a busy week for you, too, we’re here to catch you up on all of that and more below.
Creatures of the Wind came out with a marijuana-inspired capsule collection. Yeah, seriously, and Racked’s shopping team — a group of adult women — really loves it. The brand collaborated with System Magazine to create a capsule of four different styles, including a parka, a fur coat, sweatshirts, and T-shirts, all featuring hand-embroidered marijuana leaves and other botanical designs. Out today, you can get your hands on a piece from the limited run (prices start at $135) at Just One Eye, either at its Los Angeles store or via email by contacting customerservice@justoneeye.com.
Glossier finally made a sunscreen. After what we can only imagine to be an endless amount of tweets, DMs, and emails from customers asking where the SPF is, Glossier finally delivered this week. Invisible Shield ($34) is a chemical gel formula claiming to be the “sunscreen for people who hate sunscreen.”
That basically means it goes on clear and absorbs into the skin pretty fast with zero grease, stick, or white cast. Plus, it doesn’t make your makeup pill, so you can think of this as a regular, day-at-the-office type of protection. At SPF 35, it’s pretty standard coverage, but note that it’s not water-resistant, so you won’t want to use this at the beach or when you’ll be outside (and sweaty) all day. If your interest is piqued enough to spend $34 on a mere ounce, you can snag yours here.
Rihanna made us summer versions of the Fenty x Puma Creeper sneakers. Meet the Fenty x Puma Bow Creeper Sandal ($180), a warm-weather shoe that doesn’t require a pedicure. With the same sole as the original pair, shoelaces that can be tied around the ankle, and a bow over the toes, we’re sure they’ll move just as quickly as everything else with RiRi’s name on it. Take your pick of a pink-tinted nude, silver-pink, and a muted brown at Puma.com.
Vestiaire Collective officially launched vintage with the help of Chloë Sevigny. The luxury resale marketplace launched a new vintage-specific hub on the site in an effort to get more eyes on all of the truly amazing untapped vintage it carries. (Think the best of the best from Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, Dior, and more.) To kick things off, the brand chose Sevigny as its ambassador and “vintage muse,” which makes a lot of sense considering the celeb’s personal style largely revolves around vintage pieces. (Not to mention she’s also, like, very cool.) Shop her picks here.
Fame and Partners really wants you to stop buying fast fashion. While the brand has made a name for itself with its fairly unique made-to-order production model and customizable occasion wear, its newest launch, “The Anti-Fast Fashion Shop,” is coming for the rest of your closet. The launch marks Fame and Partners’s largest customizable daywear collection to date, including 101 new styles that will launch consistently over the next few months.
You’ll see new categories for the brand, like tops and pants, along with casual versions of the stuff you already know they’re good at, like dresses and skirts, retailing from $130 to $349. The brand claims its production strategy is about 60 percent less wasteful than a typical manufacturing line, so these are pieces you can feel good about.
Chrissy Teigen’s collab with Becca Cosmetics has arrived. Your favorite Twitter follow took a break from being a mom, model, and cookbook author to whip up a limited-edition Glow Face Palette ($46) just in time for summer. The four-piece set includes three new shimmery shades: Hibiscus Bloom, a coral-y pink blush; Malibu Soleil, a soft bronzer; and Beach Nectar, an all-star gold highlight. The set also includes another highlight for Becca, Rose Gold, which is already a huge hit at Sephora and Teigen’s personal favorite (until maybe now).
