Sometimes, fundraising site Kickstarter breeds genius products. Other times, your Facebook friend’s uncle’s brother’s cousin’s invention is nothing more than a stroke of sheer insanity that leaves you scratching your head.
In a case that could be the former but also the latter, there’s the RompHim: a romper for men that surfaced on Kickstarter today and promises to be “the start of a fashion revolution,” and wow, it is something.
What’s so special about the RompHim? As the Kickstarter page explains, there’s a zipper fly, because women constantly complain that peeing in a romper is impossible, and “this study metal zipper simplifies that process for guys.” There’s also an adjustable waist tab that “make it simple to cinch your RompHim’s waist for a more flattering, tapered cut,” and a zippered back pocket “to keep your wallet safe, no matter where you’re Romping around.” Apparently, it’s the perfect outfit for concerts, pool parties, and bar patios.
The RompHim comes from Chicago-based Aced Design, which seemingly is made up by a bunch of bros who went to business school together, and also Coachella. The designers say they were sitting around over some beers and, while chatting about men’s fashion, decided “everything was too corporate... too fratty... too runway... or too basic.” The site says the company was looking for something that’s more “stylish and fun,” but it’s unclear how they landed on this. It sort of looks like the pajamas of a 4-year-old boy?
Twitter, of course, has been having a field day with this “revolutionary” product.
@fmanjoo Just me, in a RompHim, with a fidget spinner, and a grande Unicorn Latte. That's what I want the world to remember about 2017.

One of the unheralded causes of the death of hipsterdom: bros started dressing like assholes, too. https://t.co/BluYBwQJ7Y

Anyways, dudes, if the RompHim is up your alley, looks like you’re in luck: The page has already met its $10,000 fundraising goal, and the creators write that they’re committing to getting product out by July 4th. The romper will cost you $90, but then again, it promises to help you “turn heads and break hearts.” So there’s that.
