Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
In less than one year, Racked’s video team has morphed into a storytelling force. From documenting eclectic street style to profiling up-and-coming stars, plus deep dives into the business of retail and the science of beauty, our team of producers, shooters, and editors consistently produce smart, social-first videos that earn millions of views.
We’re looking for a creative producer to help tie it all together, providing visual leadership to the entire team as we work on strengthening our brand identity across our various series.
The ideal candidate for the creative producer position will be able to shape our brand’s video identity and voice while also ensuring a high standard of quality across multiple projects. The lead creative on the video team, this person will report directly to the editor-in-chief. They will be responsible for the creative direction of video series at the episode level as well as new show development.
You’ll need to write and produce your own content in addition to nurturing and developing the rest of the team’s talent. You should be a strong storyteller (narratively and visually), understand the social video ecosystem, and clearly guide and communicate creative decisions to producers.
If this sounds like you, apply here.
You’ll need a cover letter and resume, a link to your portfolio, and answers to the questions below. Good luck!
1. We’re hoping to get a feel for how you tell a story, and watching completed work is the best way to do that. Please provide links to three samples of your work. (Note: Do not include reels or sizzles.)
2. Please provide a blurb about your most successful project. This should be about a brand you helped build, a video series you created, or a one-off that found a large audience. Digital media is a data-driven medium. If you have millions of views to your name, this is where you can take credit for them.
3. Why do you want to work for Vox Media, and more specifically, Racked?
