I’ve loved the look of false lashes for as long as I can remember; I have an entire drawer dedicated to sets of all shapes and sizes. There’s just something about long, full eyelashes that makes me feel confident, polished, and sexy. But I’m not a Kardashian, and I don’t have the time or resources to wear a set of falsies every day. And so began my journey to find a way to get the look without the hassle and cost.
Enter Rodan + Fields’ Lash Boost, an enhancement serum that promises to “visibly enhance eyelash volume and length in as little as four weeks.” A friend from high school who’s a Rodan + Fields consultant had been posting before-and-after photos of her own lashes on Facebook, and even though they looked great, I was skeptical. I figured she had used a fancy filter to sell her product.
After asking her point-blank if it was a gimmick, I took the plunge. (The facts that you can also use it on your eyebrows and that there’s a 60-day money back guarantee helped.)
The serum is clear and comes in a tube similar to mascara with a tiny brush applicator. After about two months, it was clear this stuff had worked. My lashes were so long they had begun to curl at the ends all on their own. With just one coat of mascara, my dream was realized: I had the look of false eyelashes without applying a single drop of messy adhesive.
It’s also a lot easier than visiting a salon to get extensions every two weeks, and it’s a quicker application than falsies; just one swipe on each eye and you’re set. It isn’t cheap (the Lash Boost clocks in at $150 a tube), but after three months, I still have plenty of product left.
