Mustard may be a summer standby — no barbecue’s complete without the stuff — but this season, why not wear your dijon and eat it, too? Thanks to endorsements from the likes of Zoë Kravitz and Celine Dion, the deeper, darker yellow is looking particularly stylish as of late. Unlike its sunnier sibling shade, mustard is more commonly worn during the autumn months, which makes it extra versatile; in other words, it’ll pair just as well with denim in August as with black tights and ankle boots come November.

Incorporating mustard into your closet can be intimidating — as is typically the case with anything that falls into the yellow/orange/brown quadrant of the color wheel — so the trick is to pick the right tone. And with options ranging from Grey Poupon pale (à la Karlie Kloss’s pleated maxi, below) to rusty and rich (see: Bella Hadid’s clingy off-the-shoulder top), there’s a shade out there to complement every skin tone under the sun.

Below, a few of our favorite recent mustard fashion moments, courtesy of some very stylish stars, and shoppable picks starting at under $30.
