Two weeks ago I was in Arizona, where the temperatures came awfully close to 120 degrees and it was so hot that planes were physically unable to fly. Have you ever felt 120 degrees? No? Let me sum it up for you: It feels like your entire body is on fire; it’s the sensation of stepping on hot black concrete in bare feet, except you also feel that on your face, too.
And while it’s certainly my own fault for booking a trip to Scottsdale in the peak of the summer, 120 was a lot more than I bargained for. To function, I wore the same dress for my entire trip: a thin slip that barely touched my body.
The perfect slip dress is breezy and not clingy, which is why it’s always a smart move to size up, especially if the straps are adjustable (and if you have hips, look for one that’s cut on a bias). Here, a handful of the best ones to buy right now before it gets too sweaty out there.
