The week after a (really) long holiday weekend always feel like a blur, so we don’t blame you if you haven’t been keeping an eye on the shopping world past extended July 4th sales. That said, there are a handful of cool new things we want you to know about — like Zana Bayne’s collaboration with The Museum of Sex, lipstick for Planned Parenthood, and Lively’s new strapless bra that isn’t ugly or painful. Get all the info on that and more below.
Zana Bayne is collaborating with The Museum of Sex. Makes sense, no? The partnership will include three pretty cool components: a capsule collection consisting of harnesses, leather bras, tote bags, T-shirts, chokers, and more, ranging from $15 to $175; an installation at the MoSex basement conceptualized by Bayne and her creative partner, Todd Pendu; and a three-weekend pop-up store (July 7th-9th, July 14th-16th, July 21st-23rd) where the designer will offer complimentary monogram stamping for customers with purchase. Not in New York? You can grab a range of styles from the collection on the MoSex e-store.
Opening Ceremony teamed up with Lipstick Lobby to support Planned Parenthood. The cool global retailer is partnering with Lipstick Lobby, a social justice organization, to launch “Kiss My Pink,” a cheeky, highly pigmented shade of matte pink lipstick — to help you, as they say, #LipstickItToTheMan. 100 percent of net profits from Kiss My Pink ($19) will be donated directly to Planned Parenthood. Pick yours up IRL exclusively at Opening Ceremony locations, or online at thelipsticklobby.com.
Lively released its first-ever strapless bras for off-the-shoulder season. The buzzy intimates brand introduced two strapless bra styles this week — the Smooth Strapless and Lace Strapless — featuring active-inspired banding for a snug fit that still doesn't snag or pull, available in sizes 32A-38DD for $35. Grab yours here.
Uniqlo’s Hana Tajima Collection is finally available in the United States. The Japanese retailer made waves in 2015 when it debuted a line of modest wear by British designer Hana Tajima. The collection hadn’t been available in the States until today, so it’s now available for you to shop IRL in select stores as well as online. The selection ranges from shirts and tops, skirts and pants, and tunics, along with several AIRism pieces like stoles, a hijab, and a headband. The shapes are sculptural and simplistic, made of tactical fabrics and subtle silhouettes — all intended to give off a contemporary, versatile look without losing any comfort. Shop it here.
Brother Vellies jumped on the basket bag trend with a super limited run. So limited that they aren’t even online. If you want in on BV’s take on what is possibly this summer’s most popular accessory, you’ll need to call the New York store at 212-480-8869, or shoot an email over to info@brothervellies.com. The bags themselves are (surprise!) really cute and were handwoven by women on Kenya’s coast, which gives some context to the $185 price tag. Get a look at them on Instagram.
