Not That Anyone Asked, But Harry Potter Lingerie Exists Now

And other things we actually wanted to buy this week.

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

So much happened in the world of shopping this week. Glossier came out with real makeup, Lacausa launched its new “Uniform” collection, and Kiehl’s is finally available at Sephora. But since we already talked about all of that, we’re here to catch you up on the other things that might’ve fallen through the cracks, from Harry Potter lingerie (?) to a confirmed date for the launch of Rihanna's Fenty Beauty line.

Good news, that Phenomenal Woman T-shirt you saw on your faves this week is only $35. To recognize and support Black Women’s Equal Pay Day on July 31st — a day created to acknowledge the number of days into 2017 a black woman must work to earn the same pay a white man made in 2016 — celebrities like Tracee Ellis Ross, Serena Williams, and Issa Rae shared selfies in the same T-shirt reading "Phenomenal Woman." If you felt inspired, you can grab your own for just $35; it’s available in kids’ sizes through 3XL. Created by Meena Harris, the shirts were created to spread the importance of women's rights, and sales proceeds benefit organizations like Girls Who Code, NARAL, and Planned Parenthood.

We finally got a date for the drop of Fenty Beauty. Rihanna took to her global stage yesterday (aka her Instagram) to tell us the countdown for Fenty Beauty has officially started, sharing a release date of September 8th. And while we still haven’t gotten a look at the products themselves yet, RiRi did credit her full, soft coral beauty look to the line at the Parisian movie premiere of Valerian. Fingers crossed that Fenty Beauty gives us the same red carpet-worthy glow next month.

The new Lane Bryant campaign is a reminder that skinny jeans are for everyone. The country's leading plus-size apparel retailer launched a brand new collection of Super Stretch Skinny Jeans this week. The collection, which starts at $70, rolled out alongside a campaign of women celebrating their curves to promote what the brand has coined #TheNewSkinny. Check out the campaign video and shop the jeans here.

Women have curves. So we designed a jean that gives those curves their due. Introducing #TheNewSkinny.

Not that anyone asked, but Harry Potter lingerie exists now. In honor of the lovable-albeit-fictional character Harry Potter’s 37th birthday (AH!) on Monday, online lingerie retailer Yandy announced its newest Fantasy Lingerie collection is available for pre-order. Along with the full Hogwarts fit — consisting of a sheer gray lace crop top with a white collar, red and marigold suspenders, and red high-waisted briefs, all for $42.95 — the collection includes other characters like Wonder Woman and Ariel, all listed under off-brand names presumably for copyright reasons (for example, Cruella de Vil is called “Devilish Dognapper,” and the Harry Potter outfit is listed as “Magical Student”). If that’s your thing, you can shop it here.

Warby Parker wants to make sure people to see the total solar eclipse. If you didn't already know, we're due for a total solar eclipse — which can be seen across the country from for the first time in 99 (!) years — on August 21st. To make sure everyone gets in on the action, the eyewear brand is giving away free glasses designed specifically to safely view the eclipse at all of its locations this month. (If you happen to be nearby the Warby Parker Nashville location, you can stop by on the 21st for a full-on viewing party, too.) Check out all the info, and the extra nerdy science facts, here.
