I recently went on vacation, and I was fully unprepared for the amount of walking it would entail. I’d only packed one pair of sandals and one pair of sneakers for the week, planning on shopping once I arrived, and thank god my half-asleep packing brain chose these particular sandals because they saved my feet and my dignity many times over.
I’ve long been a fan of Camper’s so-ugly-they’re-cute shoes, with their perplexingly washable materials and near-indestructible soles. These are no exception, except they’re not even (that) ugly! And what’s more, they held up: They didn’t rub at the skin on my heel when temperatures soared to 80+ degrees. They didn’t slip off when I clambered up cobblestones, they didn’t make my feet ache hours later when I finally sat down to drink copious amounts of wine, and they didn’t draw dirty stares from the waiters at the establishments in which I consumed said wine.
I’m strongly considering buying a second pair, not because these are anywhere near wearing out but because I want to make sure I have them for my next big trip, whenever and wherever that may be. And a major plus: Right now, they’re 25% off!
