As someone whose face wouldn’t look out of place with an oil rig on it, keeping makeup from sliding off my skin has always felt futile. My eyes are particularly averse to powder and eyeliner, which crease within hours of application.
But since I’ve started using BareMinerals Prime Time Eyelid Primer, a product you apply before any eye makeup, I don’t think twice about wiping away that pesky line of crud that builds up after blinking for a few hours.
This primer is so good that it’s actually annoying trying to take off my makeup — a problem that goes back years. When middle school hit, I was the queen of oil-absorbing sheet contests, an honor that didn’t quite make it onto my résumé. (My face might as well have been on the label of Dawn dish soap instead of those oil-coated ducklings.) I’d try eyeliner, and it’d smear. I’d try eyeshadow, and it’d disappear. I became deft at re-applying my eye makeup in a bathroom stall because struggling to look good in fluorescent lighting isn’t something you want a cool girl to see.
These days, I rely on this primer to hold my makeup in place. It’s spectacular because it’s silky and goes on smooth, and you barely need any for it to do its job. You can wear it alone for a barely-there look or apply some eyeshadow for an all-day marathon of color. It’ll even keep your liquid liner in tact well past your bedtime. I’ve napped and worked out with it on, and it hasn’t come close to budging. And even with daily use, one tube lasts me months — a worthy investment for this oily bird.
