Eloquii and Katie Sturino Team Up On a Fall Collection

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Plus-size shoppers do not have enough good options. But thanks to the industry influencers, celebrities, and style bloggers who are broadcasting this complaint as loudly and as often as they can, plus the (few) awesome retailers who are listening, more options are slowly starting to appear.

One of the latest additions to the plus-size shopping scene is a collaboration between big names in both categories: Style influencer Katie Sturino and clothing brand Eloquii have teamed up on a 22-piece fall collection that drops today.

Sturino has been a brand ambassador for Eloquii since earlier this year — there’s a page devoted to her style picks on the site, and she’s the host of the brand’s Closet Confidential series — but this is the first time she’s partnered on a new collection for the label. Each piece is based on Sturino’s sporty-chic style and/or her shopping frustrations, ranging from a sequin pencil skirt ($110) to a bomber with faux shearling sleeves ($150).

“These overalls are something that I wanted to include because I couldn’t find them in my size, ever,” Sturino told us at the launch event for the collection. Other pieces, like a silky side-striped track trouser and blouse set, were designed to be the staples you’ll wear for both your 9-to-5 and through the weekend. “This is your new go-to for just running out to get coffee in the morning, or you can wear it to work,” Sturino said. The lookbook for the collection shows Sturino running around New York, so it’s easy to imagine yourself wearing them in a similar situation.

If you’re familiar with the brand, you’ll notice that many of these pieces are a departure from Eloquii’s typical look (which can sometimes feel embellished just for the sake of embellishment). There are items in Sturino’s collection a minimalist could adopt, from the overalls to two oxford shirts with very subtle details.

One highlight is a thick camel coat ($149.90), which Sturino emphasized was super high-quality. In person it definitely had a luxury look and feel, a combination that can be oddly elusive for both this price point and size range.

And for those of you who want to cop Sturino’s lifestyle and not just her fashion sense, the collection also includes items for your dog. There’s a very funny doggie bomber ($39.90), a dog hoodie ($39.90), and dog sweaters (both $30) — modeled at the launch by Sturino’s three Instagram famous pups — so you can literally wear a matching outfit with your dog. What more could you want? Well, maybe just more actually-cool clothes for curvy women. Fingers crossed that this is the first of many Eloquii x Katie Sturino collections.
