What to Buy at Shopbop’s Big Sale This Week

It’s best for splurges on coats, boots, and bags. (Or all three!)

Shopbop’s big seasonal sale started today, and the TL;DR is this: If you’ve been meaning to buy a new pair of boots, a coat, or something else on the pricey side for fall, this is the time to do it. That’s because the deal — 20% off orders under $500 and 25% off orders of $500 or more — works best when you spend more. It’s just math, you guys!!

With that in mind, ask yourself this first: Do you want to buy one nice thing from the full-price section, or a lot of things from the sale section? If you’re hell-bent on the former, we’ve pulled together a few of the best things to splurge on right now.

One of the great things about Shopbop’s outerwear section is that there are a ton of different coat styles to choose from, and a lot of them are under $200. Case in point: this Blank Denim suede moto jacket will be $158 at 20% off and $148 at 25% off. I also really love this fuzzy MKT Studio sherpa coat, which will be $209 at 20% off and $196.50 at 25% off. And this cream Mother sherpa jacket will be $276 at 20% off, or $258 at 25% off.

But do you wanna be really cozy and buy a down coat, maybe one you’d never pay full price for? Make a beeline to the Canada Goose page and pick up a puffer or parka for under $700.

These red Stuart Weitzman boots are close to perfect and, after the discount, clock in at $431 (originally $575). And the heel on these Zimmermann black ankle boots is so cool that I would consider them for $671 (as opposed to $895). The same goes for these Dorateymur ankle boots (also in red, but patent), which would be $412, as opposed to $550. And if you’re willing to spend a little more to get the discount, these white Shutz boots, which would be $232 at 20% off, are great.

What’s that? You don’t want really weird boots? That’s fine — there are plenty of very normal black boots to sift through, but I do encourage you to live a little.

Let’s get you a really good tote, shall we? This structured tote from The Stowe will be $312 at 20% off and $292 at 25% off, and Madewell’s beloved Transport Tote will be $134 at 20% off and $126 at 25% off. Baggu’s equally great Basic Tote is even cheaper — 20% off brings it down to $144, and 25% drops it down to $135.

And of course, if you want something with a little more pizazz, there are plenty of bags to sift through; start with Future Glory Co., Alexander Wang, Anya Hindmarch, and 3.1 Phillip Lim.
