Kanye West returned to Twitter last week, and though the first few days were full of vaguely philosophical abstractions, this week he’s getting a lot more specific. On Monday, he began by tweeting videos of Dilbert creator and Trump supporter Scott Adams, as well as praise for right-wing pundit Candace Owens. But along with the (maybe not actually all that shocking) outbursts were updates on his fashion brand, Yeezy.
This morning, Kanye announced that Yeezy will hire 160 people after “hitting a billion dollars this year” and that the brand was “the 2nd fastest growing company in history.” He also used the jargony finance term “decacorn,” which refers to a privately held startup worth more than $10 billion, despite the fact Yeezy is technically a brand partnership with Adidas:
We have 160 positions to fill by the end of the year. Yeezy will hit a billion dollars this year. It is the 2nd fastest growing company in history. It is a unicorn on its way to becoming a decacorn.

He then said he was currently the highest-paid person in footwear (in 2017, Michael Jordan made $110 million from his Nike partnership, according to Forbes):
I am currently the single highest paid person in footwear. That means I make more money on shoes than Michael Jordan.

And he foretold that Yeezy will become the biggest apparel company “in human history.” That title is currently held by Christian Dior, followed by Nike and Inditex, which owns Zara. Adidas is No. 5:
there's been a lot of fake news so I just wanted to give you the facts. Yeezy will become the biggest apparel company in human history by working with the most genius level talents and creating product at an affordable price. I hired the head of supply chain from the Gap.

Kanye also promised to make his clothing more affordable because he had hired the head of supply chain from the Gap, referring to Deborah Palmer Keiser, who according to her LinkedIn profile had worked for Gap Inc. from 1996 to 2006 and started at Yeezy this March:
We will reach the prices I've promised

And then said he was “this generation’s” version of Henry Ford, Howard Hughes, Steve Jobs, and Walt Disney:
I am this generations Ford Hughes Jobs Disney

After comparing himself to Jobs, Kanye also compared the Yeezy 350 to the iPhone, and revealed details about the most popular shoe styles:
the Yeezy 350s sell 400 thousand pair in four hours. Only thing close to this is the iPhone.
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) April 25, 2018
the desert rat 500 sold 250 thousand in one hour on Coachella weekend. Please do not try to play Yeezy or anyone who wears Yeezy. We are the future.
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) April 25, 2018
the Yeezy 700 is adidas most requested shoe

He tweeted praise for Adidas, and then said “this could’ve never happened” at Nike, which released the Air Yeezy in 2009:
adidas have been great partners and they've let Yeezy be Yeezy. This could've never happened at Nike
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) April 25, 2018
He ended the string of tweets in typical Kanye form, by bringing it back to politics:
when we become president we have to change the name of the plane from Air Force one to Yeezy force one ☝️
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) April 25, 2018
Like most Kanye tweets, it’s difficult to know what exactly to make of the Yeezy-related ones. But if they’re to be trusted, expect a much bigger — and maybe more affordable — Yeezy in the future.
