Betty Halbreich
Head of Solutions, Bergdorf Goodman
Who was the first designer that you absolutely fell in love with? Oh, my goodness, I fell in love with Dior in 1947 and owned his dress with the three bows down the front, which was then copied by every American designer. Were there any specific people that made you understand fashion in a new, special way? I discovered fashion in my mother’s closet, and I must say dressing has always come very easy to me. I’ve also always admired Diana Vreeland—the way she used accessories and dressed. I believe if she came back today, she’d look very current. Frankly, I don’t read magazines for style. I wing it through Bergdorf Goodman.
