Your typical Stuart Weitzman pump retails for around $300, but the designer has just announced to WWD that he'll be doing a line of higher-end shoes to meet the demand from retailers who are asking for a more exclusive, upscale product. The new collection will be called SW1, and it will hit stores this fall. Pricing will hover around $595 for satin or suede dress shoes, $795 for booties, and $995 for boots. Overall, there will be around 50 shoes in the collection, which will incorporate materials like suede, leather, and satin with metal, natural shells, and even plexi mother-of-pearl heels.
The line will also include bags that fall into one of three themes: There's a soft neutral category, a group of exotics in python, and a day-to-day totes and clutches. The collection will debut in Milan at the end of the month, and will be sold at Selfridges in London and Holt Renfrew in Canada. There's no US retailer yet, so it looks like you're going to have to work a little bit harder to get your hands on it—which seems to be the point.
