Street style bloggers and paramours Scott Schuman and Garance Doré spoke to Elle UK about their business for this month's issue and since the piece isn't online yet, Doré reprinted it on her website. The article focuses on the saturation of Fashion Week street style blogging and how Schuman and Doré deal with the sidewalk competition. Doré: "We all support each other. Of course, sometimes we look at each other's work and say, 'Oh my God, I wish I'd got that picture,' but in a good way." Schuman: "We all respect each other, there is no fighting – I get along with Tommy [Ton] and Susie [Lau]. We give each other space."
Of course, the duo is exempt from the scrabbling that plagues up-and-comers. This they also acknowledge. Neither says they got into the industry to make money (stressed Doré, "I never chased advertising") but the subject of revenue does come up. According to the article, Schuman is making a 'seven figure' sum off his blog, which nets him 14 million page views and 1.2 million uniques on a "big month." That explains how they can afford that massive apartment in the Village in Manhattan.
