Crucial Update

The 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' Teaser Trailer Is Here!

The Jakku dust has barely settled from all the Star Wars: The Force Awakens fanfare — but there’s already another installment in the famous franchise to look forward to. This morning, the debut teaser trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (the first of the probably-many franchise spinoffs Disney has planned) hit the internet — and folks, it looks good. Really good.

Rogue One stars Oscar nominee and budding style icon Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso, a rebel orphan tasked with taking down the evil Death Star. Good news for those who’d like to see more strong, independent leading ladies in blockbuster films (so, pretty much everyone): Jones’ character seems cut from the same kickass cloth as Rey, Daisy Ridley’s beloved heroine from The Force Awakens. We can’t wait to witness Jones’ adventures in a galaxy far, far away — or to see the sure-to-be-stellar red carpet looks she pulls out for the film’s upcoming press tour.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on December 16.
